Kristi's Thoughts

Today was our last day of work and the sports camp.  Some finished painting up at the orphanage, while others carried buckets of sand for the first part of the morning and the rest was spent putting up dry wall at a house in Flower's Bay.  In the afternoon we went shopping at West End.  After lunch the group went to our final day of the sports camp. It was bitter sweet because my team finally won a game, but it was sad to say goodbye to all our new friends.  We ended the day by eating dinner at the orphanage, playing with the kids, and devotion.
When I first thought about going on this trip (which was three hours before everyone met at the church) it was more of my sister, Paige, and I just joking around about the idea.  Then we started thinking about how amazing it would be if I could actually go, since we had gone together last year also.  With a lot of help from Mr. Brown and the cooperation of the airlines I was given the opportunity and took it.  At the beginning I wasn't so sure on my decision, but the first day we walked up to the orphanage and saw the kids again I knew this trip was worth coming.  Being here a second time has made me able to really understand why we are all here.  Not that I didn't the first year, but I didn't focus as much on the new experiences and excitement as I tried to on the work, helping people, and forming relationships.  I am very thankful that I was able to join the team here and get to know all of them.  It's really sad to think our adventure is ending soon. Thank you for all of your support and prayers!
